Nykez Farrow scores after returning a punt he blocked.
BCHS scored on their first three possessions en route to a 31-0 victory over Rutland at the inaugural Gridiron Classic played at Fort Valley State University.

BCHS Cross Country was in Rochelle Saturday for the Patriot Pride Invitational hosted by Wilcox County High School. The girls finished first in the 500 meter race, the boys second in the 5K race. Bleckley County Firefighters learn about battery hazards.

Members of the Bleckley County Fire Department attended a “Introduction to Battery Hazards” class taught by Georgia Public Safety Training Center instructor David Cummings. They learned about things like what kind of hazards batteries can produce and what to do if a button battery is swallowed by a child.

Firefighters recognized for saving a life at city council meeting.

(Photo contributed.) Three members of the Cochran Fire Department were recognized for their actions which saved a life at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.. Their actions came during a recent emergency medical call. All thee received a life saving pin. Pictured L-R are firefighters Quang Nguyen and Colton Klienfeld, Sgt. Randy Brown, and Fire Chief Brock Wilcher.
